How to find an on-duty pharmacy in Cabudare and Barquisimeto.

There is no official on-duty pharmacy schedule

There is currently no official on-duty pharmacy list in Lara. Omar Álvarez, president of the Lara State Pharmacists' Association, said in December 2022 that pharmacies had stopped keeping the night shift years earlier and asked the health regulator (Contraloría Sanitaria) to publish it again. We found no newer list from the association, the city governments or the regional press.[6]

  • Call before you go: hours change, especially during power cuts.
  • In an emergency, go straight to a hospital emergency room: the Health page lists which ones are working.
  • Farmatodo is the only chain that publishes each store's hours. These are the ones in Cabudare and Barquisimeto that stay open latest.

    The state power company posts notices on its website and on Instagram, Facebook and Threads as @corpoelecinfo. It does not publish an outage schedule by neighborhood for Lara, and residents say the SMS alerts from 8733 have stopped arriving.[1][2]

    A neighborhood group that posts a daily tally of power cuts in Lara on X, with Iribarren and Palavecino listed separately. Regional newspapers cite its figures.[2]

    Hidroven (formerly Hidrolara)

    Since January 2026, Lara's water has been run by Hidroven: decree 5,229 put the regional water utilities, Hidrolara included, under its control. We found no public distribution schedule by neighborhood, and Hidrolara's websites were not responding when we checked, so for water we rely mostly on residents' reports.[3]

      Subsidized gasoline schedule

      Your day to buy subsidized gasoline depends on the last digit of your license plate, with a monthly quota through the Patria System of 120 liters for cars and 60 for motorcycles. El Estímulo publishes the national schedule every week in its energy section.[4]

      The Lara state government's household gas distributor. It takes calls and answers on X and Instagram as @gaslara_oficial.[5]
